Gerry's first egg?

Three eggs
Eggs from Margot, Gerry (we think) and Barbara

Well I think we owe Gerry an apology. Having written last night about our doubts that she’s laying anything at all, we found a very unfamiliar egg at the bottom of the pan.

Lifting out the eggs we’d boiled for today’s sandwiches, we found Babrara’s regular creamy egg, the brown speckled ones Margot lays, and a new egg, which was a mix of the two. Whiter than Barbara’s, but with red flecks like the little bits you get in a ham Mini Cheddar. Very striking, and quite like Gerry’s white and ginger marking. In the picture above it’s the one in the middle, with Margot’s offering to the left, and Barbara’s to the right.

So perhaps all the members of our little home flock are laying after all. It’s taken a while, but it’s good to finally be there.
