Chicken coats

in Keeping chickens

I love this video of a poor little featherless chicken wearing a coat. Battery hens often arrive fairly short on feathers so chicken clothing isn’t as uncommon as you might think. We’ve already covered chicken jumpers on Blagger, and we’re planning on rescuing some chickens of our own, but I’m not so sure we’ll be giving them any body warmers if this is anything to go by.

I think this is cruel! This chicken thinks it is trapped, and is getting distressed, trying to reverse out of the coat. Definitely not something to laugh about. Maybe that braying woman needs to spend the day in a straightjacket.
