The tomatoes are shooting

Black Russian tomato shoot

I’m very impressed by the Black Russian tomatoes. It’s only taken them a week to start shooting in their little paper pots. At the moment they’re sat by the patio doors in the dining room and the enjoying the sun, sheltered from the worst of the weather.

I really didn’t think they’d get started so quickly, but as this is the crop about which I’m most excited this year it’s a good start to the growing season.

All we need to do now is keep our fingers crossed for their cousins bearing the worst outdoors.
