Raspberries and ice cream

Yum yum. The first raspberries are ready for eating. Perfect timing, really, as the strawberries have now all been picked and eaten.

We’re growing four different kinds of raspberry, all chosen because they should come into fruit at different times of the year. Well, that’s the theory anyway. Turns out it’s not that exact a science as they’re all coming out round about now.

Not necessarily a bad thing, of course: it means we had at least three different varieties each tonight with the lighter, plumper berries by far the juicier and most tasty.

Sadly, despite having ten canes in total we don’t have an enormous crop, so how many bowls of fruit we’re going to get, I don’t know.

We’ll just have to bulk them up with more ice cream.

The raspberries sure do look good. Made me hungry for some. Ours are just about ready but not quite. Will have to try to be patient :0)
