Our little garden helper

The cat is turning out to be a first class mouser. I don’t like to think of the little rodents being picked off one by one, but it comes naturally to felines, and I do rather like the way that he’s doing his little bit to help out in the garden.

Here he is sitting among the beans keeping an eye out, probably guarding the strawberry patch, which is just behind him. Shame he wasn’t so dedicated when the strawberries were actually fruiting and something with nibbly sharp teeth was eating into them.

Still, better late than never.

Who’d have thought a cat could be so helpful when you’re trying to move towards self-sufficiency, though?
