Apricots

See those? Those up above are two of our first four apricots, blown off the tree in the high winds. That’s not good, is it.

I hope the other two can continue to hang on, but I’m having my doubts. The whole tree is looking a bit sorry for itself: while the branches around the edge are all leafy and green, the ones in the middle, closest to the stem, are brown and their leaves are dead.

Poor tree. We’ve only had it a year, and looked after it carefully through winter, putting it in a spot where it can get the best of the little light you get at that time of year and now, with the warmer weather upon us, making sure it hasn’t dried out.

I wonder what could be up.
