[...] Christmas presents… already Posted on Thursday, November 13th, 2008 in General - Comments: (3) Six weeks today it’ll be Christmas. That’s a scary thought. I’ve bought one present so far, but there are some presents we’re both giving that we’ve already thought out, and that don’t involve the shops at all.Every time we’ve bottled or preserved something over the last few months, we’ve made a few extras for the neighbours. Not for now, but for a secret midnight raid we’re going to do, dropping off baskets of surprises on their doorsteps to be found on Christmas morning. [...]

Chai tea is an excellent idea, and I've dug out <a href="http://gracefruit.blogspot.com/2008/10/dreaded-c-word.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">the recipe you're referring to</a>. I'm rather tempted to try it myself, as it looks very easy.

That's an adorable idea! I'm putting jam, marmalade, pickled eggs, fresh eggs if we still have them, miniature hand-sewn chicken paperweights and chai tea (recipe for that nicked from the Omlet forum) in mine. I like the idea of a spiced chai tea mix. It's festive. I think whatever you're putting in, your neighbours are very lucky. It's such a lovely idea to do 'surprise' delivery hampers.
